About Me

With over 45 years of engineering, maintenance, operations, quality control, sales, and executive experience in the flat-roll steel industry, I’ve developed a complete understanding of all the disciplines within the manufacturing process. Over my career, I’ve established life-long relationships with other industry professionals. Though my experience gives me a plethora of knowledge, it also gives me the ability to ask the right questions - and if I do not know the right answers, to find the people who will.


Curriculum Vitae:

Engineering:

  • Designed, redesigned, built, and installed coil coating manufacturing processing equipment, secondary processing equipment, support processing equipment and material handling equipment

  • Redesigned and remanufactured existing equipment to improve productivity and to support new product development (NPPD)

  • Orchestrated facility expansions and greenfield startups

Maintenance:

  • Developed extensive CMMS, PM and PdM systems for manufacturing processing equipment and facilities.

  • Helped with creation of work order instructions that meet OEM requirements

  • Devised risk analysis systems to prevent catastrophic downtimes and establish Critical Spares analysis

  • Established processes for tracking and recording maintenance downtimes that focused on uptime improvements, capital investments and the maximization of cycle times

Operations & Quality Control:

  • Instilled employee empowerment and ownership through extensive training and mentoring to attain high levels of product quality, employee buy-in, and accountability of their work environment

  • Implemented continuous improvement processes (PIT) to focus on waste reduction and the elimination of productivity obstacles to achieve constant productivity improvements

  • Established comprehensive and accessible (by all production personnel) quality policies and product specifications that met or surpassed customer requirements

Sales & Marketing:

  • Created technical sales workforce and proactive customer service departments

  • Established new business through internal and external new product and process development (NPPD)

  • Brought about effective turn around and cultural changes within divisions and organizations
